15 Additional DePuy Hip Recall Lawsuits Filed
Over the past month 15 patients across America represented by Lieff Cabraser and Co-Counsel have filed personal injury against DePuy Orthopaedics, Inc., and its parent company, Johnson & Johnson, Inc., for manufacturing an allegedly defective metal hip implant.
“The DePuy ASR System has had extraordinarily high rates of loosening, failure, and dangerous metal debris release, which caused patients to develop complications necessitating removal of the ASR devices in revision surgeries,” stated partner Wendy R. Fleishman. “A revision surgery is a painful procedure during which some or all of the ASR System components are explanted from the patient’s body and replaced with new components.”
In the complaints, plaintiffs allege that they have debilitating pain and severe limitations on their ability to walk, sit, and climb stairs. Some plaintiffs will also need to undergo and recover from a painful hip revision surgery, or have had to do so.
The plaintiffs represented by Lieff Cabraser who have recently filed DePuy hip recall lawsuits come from New York, Tennessee, Texas, and Virginia. Click here to read one of the complaints.
